Message sent to Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment

A few of my friends and I are very fond of the Hallmark mini-series version of Frankenstein from 2004 starring Luke Goss and we were very excited to find out that Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment was releasing a 10th Anniversary edition this month.

(Your DVD Cat number. KAL8326)

We each received our discs today from Amazon UK. Though we are Americans we have multi-region DVD players and do not have any issues playing imported discs.

The second disc doesn't seem to have a problem but the first disc has some serious issues with the color contrast. Sometimes the images are far too dark, tinted heavily in blue or red or virtually impossible to see.

Here, I have taken comparison screen shots for you to understand what we are seeing.

To the left is the Full Screen American DVD from 2004. To the right is your own Wide screen version paused on the same exact scenes.

What is the good of a nice wide screen format when you cannot even see the picture?

These are all from disc 1. Disc 2 doesn't seem to have as much of an issue with it's wide screen format.

I was going to review the new 10th anniversary edition for Nosferatu TV, the horror website, but if this is a defect in what is apparently... all of our DVDs... than I will hold off on writing it.

Sincerely,

Amanda Pike

Yes, as you have so much difficulty with the English language let me point out the obvious to you. Unlike your replies, which do require copy and paste these posts, though of a similar nature, are not exact word for word duplicates of each other, they are just in regard to the same issue.

One was explaining the issue. The other was a message sent to the company about the issue. You hate me so much that you would haunt a mini-series that no one discusses and scare off anyone who wants to discuss it and or might have fallen victim to the shoddy reprint? THAT is how much you insist on STALKING a stranger. Seek help.

Then please tell us why you are flooding these boards?
And again:
Neither haunt nor stalk something or somebody.
YOU currently copy and paste posts to flood the boards!

So, lunchtime is nearly over.
Need to continue work.
You can go on with your job:
FLOODING!

reply

Well, first you misuse the term flooding. Notice how it talks about a direct word fo rword copy of a post done again and again. That means a copy and paste / spam or advertising off topic from the movie itself. Not similar but different topics.

The first was posted earlier today when I first got the DVD. The second was when I sent a letter to the company. I felt a letter to the company and the screen grabs of the issue warranted their own conversations if there were conversations to be had. By your logic any conversation that happens to be about Lady Jayne on NBC's Dracula board should count as flooding because they are all regard to the same character.

What you are doing is submitting false reports to IMDB. And if they get more than a few of those from you they start redirecting your reports so they never go through at all. In fact they full admit to this on the top of the report abuse tab.

Re: Picture quality is poor on 10th anniversary edition
I didn't stalk you.
I only read on the board where i posted before.
And oh, i see...you reported me.

Will not do that with you.

Mercy with the poor ones!

P.S.
But to contact the costumer service directly is still an option.

Obviously you've much experiences in reporting others!
Save your unnecessary explanations.
YOU reported me, I didn't.

Over and out!

reply

Nope. I don't bother with abuse reports. However if I start to feel threatened I do consider going to cyber stalking help sites and that usually works. This is bordering on creepy.

Sorry, unbelievable.
Within a few minutes after sent you the rules against flooding, I got reported.
No "help sites" do that...they submit informations.

Check your collection of assertions and paste again!

So I contacted Amazon UK about the obvious issue with the contrast on the first disc on the 10th Anniversary of the Hallmark Frankenstein starring Luke Goss. And even though I repeatedly told them I had no issue with disc 2 and even sent them screen grabs to show them exactly what the issue was they felt the need suggest flipping the disc over and try playing the other side. The Other side is a label that takes up the entire disc, you idiot! If I was playing the wrong side how did I get screen grabs??! Or is it supposed to be a two sided DVD where one is for bats to watch and the other is for humans?

On the bright side Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment gave me an E-mail address to their technical department and wanted me to tell them about it.

reply

I hope Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment does not intend to leave it as is under the assumption that those who have never watched the American version would not notice the difference. There are scenes so dark all I can see are the glisten of teeth. And the second disc (quality wise) looks nothing like this overly-dark part 1 disc. The second DVD is a lot more bearable to look at. I have poor eye sight and I can tell there's something very wrong without even referencing the original American DVD. This isn't right. I would not have been able to follow the movie without the original DVD to serve as reference.
