The musical is loosely an adaptation of this very mini-series, including the scene of The Creature carrying Victor's body off into the snow, with a few changes here and there such as allowing a brief reconciliation between Creature and maker near the end.

The only thing I don't like about the play is during Modern Prometheus the female creature does come to life and Victor kills her by simply stabbing her with a scalpel. This should not be so easy. The male creature was shot earlier in the play and recovered without aid. And repeatedly the lyrics are "Life Everlasting. Reanimation. A flawless new design." The Creatures are (according to the play's own canon) immortal. A scalpel wound should not kill her. In my mind I re-write it that she is destroyed while still incomplete like in the novel. The Creature can still view the act as murder.
