the OTHER bands/musicians

so, according to Wikipedia, some of the other artists that Darkwood used were (reminiscent of) Mozart, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald.

There were 5...
1.) the kid
2.) the black trumpet player
3.) the black lounge signer (Fitzgerald, for sure)
4.) the white hippie looking chick
5.) the white guy with long curly hair

My personal theories...
1.) Mozart.
2.) Armstrong? He looked VERY different from Louis if you ask me...
3.) DEFINATELY Ella Fitzgerald
4.) I, personally, think #4 symbolized Janis Joplin.
5.) Looks like Robert Plant (but he didn't die IRL...*shrug*)

YOUR THOUGHTS?

reply

I'm thinking the aliens in Darkwoods book are based on...

1.) Mozart
2.) Louis Armstrong
3.) Ella Fitzgerald
4.) Janis Joplin
5.) Stevie Ray Vaughan

there is more than 5 but they don't show us all of 'em

reply

Stevie Ray Vaughan... good answer, and it fits because he's actually dead.

reply

the blonde girl looks alot like Joni Mitchell...and she has an acoustic guitar

reply

Has anybody here ever SEEN a picture of Louis Armstrong?!?!? No. Not Satchmo. Miles Davis, possibly? And I truly think that #3 is Aretha Franklin rather than Ella.

reply

I thought #3 was Billie Holiday

reply

Mozart, Aretha Franklin, and BOB DYLAN.

reply

Aretha ain't dead

reply

1) Definitely young Mozart, insinuating Darkwood was Mozart's "father" and that the adult Mozart was a different person.
2) Most likely Miles Davis.
3) More likely Billie Holiday, who had notorious alcohol, drug, and depression problems.
I don't remember the order of the last two, but here goes: :P
I agree with Stevie Ray being the guitarisgt, as he has his trademark hat and did have trouble before he died, and most likely Janis Joplin, which makes the most sense.

reply

gah, *guitarist.

Wow, I somehow completely forgot her! Thanks, that actually does make more sense.

reply

Bobby isn't either, but i totally agree with those 3. I dont think it really matters if they are dead, nothing else in the movie is based off of the real world lol!

reply

They were:
1. Mozart
2. Jimmi Hendrix
3. Ella Fitzgerald
4. Janis Joplin
5. Jimmy Page
