What Song Replaces 'Superheroes' In the movie

I just got done watching it and released Superheroes isn't in it but then to replace it theres this sort of arena rock sounding song...does it have a name?

reply

um. superheores is clearly in the movie......

reply

whats the song that plays during the concert?

reply

get the album and find out?

reply

The song played at the concert is indeed Track 7 -- Superheroes.
Are you, by chance, viewing a bootleg or downloaded copy?

reply

thats interesting because i was wondering the EXACT same thing and havnt been able to figure it out...yeah i dled the movie and i also dl all their music, but still cant figure out what song that is! blah, driving me nuts

reply

Okay yes I OWN the album thank you and the version I rented from Netflix has a song that is not superheroes during the concert scene it sounds less like some 80s hip hop and more like some arena rock song...very heavy bass. So maybe some of you can lose the 'tude?

reply

Mmmm my version very clearly plays "Superheroes", so can't help you there, sorry.

reply

Theres three songs in three different concerts.

1. First concert - One More Time
2. Second concert (and when they record) - Cresendolls
3. Third (sold-out stadium) - Superheroes

reply

Okay on the version I recieved from nextflix it was not Superheroes during the sold out stadium when he comes to save them...it had a veryyy heavy bass and sounded like a rock n roll song...god am I the only one who got this from Netflix?

reply

yeah I think your a tad slow
or you can't perceive music easily

reply

For everyone who owns the version that does have "Superheroes" on it, where did you purchase your copy from?

reply

Sam Goody's.

reply

i must say i couldnt find it anywhere, so i download it( the movie), but it still is "supeheroes"

reply

you're crazy. i got the downloaded version and superheroes is clearly on there

reply

Daft Punk Discovery albulm has changed slightly since it was releases, with Superheroes being changed from an earlier song but given the same name, the same happened to the song Short Circuit, the one in Interstella 5555, which has the heavy bass and a sample from Barry Manilow 'Somethings in the air' is Superheroes from the newer version of the albulm

reply

You're crazy the album has never changed.
There are not different versions with different songs.
Superheroes is a song heavy on the bass with a sample from "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed" by Barry Manilow.
Short Circuit is a totally different song with bass in it but not nearly as heavy.
All the songs are in their proper places in the movie.

Look guys, I had the same problem. I have a compilation disc with the best songs from Daft Punk's first two albums. "Superheroes" is on it, and its duration is 06:01 min. Few months after that I saw Interstella 5555 and was really puzzled when the song you're talking about started to play instead of that version of "Superheroes" that I am familiar with!

To make things worse, I really liked that song I heard in Interstella and I wanted it badly! Interstella 5555's credits clearly state that every song from Discovery is played respectively in the Interstella movie. Hmmm, so I connected to the internet and searched for Daft Punk discography to see tracklist from Discovery and to see duration of songs - and I found what I expected: "Track 7 - Superheroes - duration 03:57 min." Aha! A different song, then. So, I have totally different song with the same name on my disc!

And, of course, I downloaded that regular version of "Superheroes" from eMule (or LimeWire or BearShare) and just checked if song duration was 03:57 before I started a download. And now I have both those songs, which are VERY different from each other. That (regular) Interstella version samples Barry Manilow's "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed" and I really want to know what is then name of the song me and you have?! Is that a Daft Punk song? Is that "Superheroes 2", or maybe Discovery album has different version of "Superheroes" for different markets? Japanese? American?

Hope this helps, If you can't get that version of "Superheroes" from Interstella let me know and I could send it to you via e-mail

PRAISE YOU!!! I told you guys! You can all eat it!

To add my comment to an already too big discussion...

I first heard "Discovery" as a downloaded copy. When I finally bought the album (some years later) I was pleased to find out, that the version I had of Superheroes wasn't the correct one (the album version is much much better)...

Anyway, I always thought that the downloaded version had come with an error and that was all... But since Mr.MacLovesMoon (don't we all?) has declared that he has a BOUGHT copy of the album with that "early" version of SHEROES I am starting to think that we all fell in the trap of the french (aero)dynamic duo!... What are they trying to do to us???... what are they trying to do to !me!??? I just can't live in a world were Daft Punk can't make up their minds of what song they should put on a record!

Anyway... The intrigue has caught my attention!
(the official proof... well... it isn't a very good proof is it?)

reply

I just wanted proof that I wasn't insane! That theyre are two versions

reply

I blame the French.
Kooky frogs.

reply

What the hell?
Two versions of Superheroes?
No way.
See, I bought the original versions of both Discovery and Interstella, and it's clearly the same song.
Too bad you downloaded copies have some bottlegged crap in it.

Upload the different version another time, the download link on yousendit.com expired.

btw: Superheroes uses the sample "Oh, goes in the air" (or something like that), everything else is fake.

reply

I'd be very interested in hearing this other version too! Please upload it again.

Anyways the original sampled B. Manilow song goes "Ah, Somethings in the air". I believe it's just very heavily filtered parts of that sample you hear in Superheroes.

Listen to the original version here:

(The song is located at the top of the list - click on "Barry Manilow")

reply

Yes, upload once again.

I don't believe you people.

reply

According to iTunes the version on the album in 3:57.

"Michael. That's not a 10K, that's the sun!"

reply

OK, I know this is an ancient thread, but I just literally synced the song to the movie and kept changing volumes on both ends, they are IDENTICAL, no changes (aside from the car crash) in the audio what so ever, NOTHING NATHAN NOTTA. I have a theory on your 7+ minutes version, I know that some times, when you download an MP3, they have it like play twice, and if you take the 3:57 and play it one and 3/4 times back to back, it would equal just about that, so someone probably just *beep* with the MP3 and put it on Bearshare or whatever. But as far as comparison goes, MOVIE = ORIGINAL CD
I bought this CD YEARS ago, before this movie came out. There wasn't even a music video for it back then.

This was bough before Toonami, you remember Toonami right?, put the four videos that existed at the time on Cartoon Network, I bought it before that. So there is not an official different version.

reply

OK so maclovesmoon has a Daft Punk compilation cd with Superheroes on it that is a different version from the track on Discovery. Well, that doesn't really surprise me. Daft Punk is a very remixable band. They even released a full disc of remixes of Discovery that coincided and was sometimes packaged with Interstella. So, just about every song on Discovery has a 2nd version. Considering that no one can produce an actual copy of Discovery with altered tracks, I'm guessing what the OP has is just a remix.

reply

The Superheroes with the funky guitar is the advanced promo

The Superheroes with the Barry manilow Sample is Album.

reply

You know I'm not even sure I still have the *fake* one. But the old version had no sample or vocals and sounded very 80s.

reply

I realize this discussion is very old, but I may be able to explain why you heard two different songs. "Superheroes" is the song that plays in Interstella, and it is 3 minutes and 57 seconds. Daft Punk has another song where they meshed together "Superheroes", "Human After All", and "Rock'n Roll", and it lasts 6 or so minutes. Perhaps the song mesh was simply labeled as "Superheroes" on the compilation album that you have.

reply

Anyone have the 6:01 min version or know where I can find it. I've tried a couple of places, but, no luck. I would really like to hear this 6 min version.

reply

I think I may have solved this. I down loaded what appears to be Daft Punks complete discography with like 60 albums in total.
There is one called "Discovery (beta version)" with a song called Super-heroes that is 6 min long. And is different from the 3:57 version of the song.

reply

if anybody is still looking for this:

or

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFxpKsgolWY

Supposedly the OP had the "Discovery (beta)" and not the "Discovery" album.
I am still not sure how official that beta album is though.

reply

The 'beta' version certainly fits the OP's description. However, it still doesn't make sense because all of the other songs on the beta version are different too.
Anyway, it seems that the 'beta' version was a collection of fake leaks, or at least most of them were fake. To me, although I like the sound, Super Heroes seems rather long and repetitive, which does not really fit with the rest of the album.
