aka Monticello, IL. The town in which I live.
My brother is in the movie as an extra and my grandma tried out for a part in it. And I almost walked into the crew filming a scene outside a gas station.
Some more info for the folks out there when the movie is released...
The grocery store in the movie (IGA) is no longer standing, the store was purchased by Niemann Foods out of Quincy, Illinois prior to the movie being shot. Earlier this year, a new store was opened next door and the old store is now a parking lot. I'm hoping the delay is not much longer, I'm really looking foward to seeing this film.
I just saw the premiere in Champaign Illinois last night. ED Asner shines as usual. The movie is very wholesome. Great family film. It is a bit 'b' some might say but it is not a big budget hollywood movie. All in all I think it will appeal to many .. Reminds me of a good Hallmark Movie of the week. I got to see some trailers for some of the other projects in the works. These people need some big Hollywood dollars and the movies would do VERY well in the market.
