What do you think Buckingham writes on Ned's mirror?

He's definately writing something on that mirror, but I can't see it...

I'll try to look at it again later, but it was something like "bravo", and his initial (or B for Buckingham.)

Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

He wrote Brava! in lipstick, and then an initial. I interpreted it as basically. Ned is officially an amazing actor again so now that guy wants to get into his pants... again. Because he's attracted to success. I dont think Ned would take him up on the offer though.

I'm not so sure the Duke wanted Ned again. His wife is with him while he's writing on the mirror, and he said very clearly in the steamroom scene that he was only interested in Ned as long as he acted like a woman. The Duke of Buckingham would have no need to be "attracted to success", as he was a royal.
And even back when you first see Ned & the Duke on the stage bed, the Duke has him wear a long blonde wig when they have sex. And when Maria later sees them kissing, Ned asks if the Duke makes all his whores wear wigs, and the duke says, "If it makes them more of a woman"....And by the end of the film, Ned seems to have adjusted to being a male actor, not a female impersonator.
I think the Duke probably has some risidual feelings for Ned, and probably feels a bit bad for the hurtful way he sent Ned off, so he just wants to tell him he was there, and that he really liked Ned's performance...

He wrote Bravo (or brava) and then a V which stands for Villiers because the 1st Duke of Buckingham's actual name was George Villiers :-)

Oh, thanks for that, I was wondering what the "V" meant/stood for! :)
