Was he married???

I dont understand....I thought it was briefly mentioned early in the film he was married...then nothing was mentioned afterward. If he was married, it seemed somewhat hypocritical for him to persuade Niki to move in with him, and discard any thoughts or feelings to what her potential husband and family thought etc, when he in fact married himself..

He was married but it was a failed marriage and I got the feeling he hadn't seen his wife in a long while. He was originally going to head back to America to try and fix the marriage.

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think perhaps I was the pnly one who has watched this film this year :)
