The B1-66ER murder scene

Sorry to post this in a board for part two, but the one for part one seems dead.

When you watch this scene you notice that B1-66ER's owner has a number of pet cats that you see walk around the room before the mechanic goes off screen to disable it. After you see B1 kill the mechanic and chase after the owner numerous squirts of blood spatter across the room.

I can't quite make it out though, but does B1 also kill the owners cats before moving on to him? It's only that when you see the guys face, you can make out the head of what looks like a feline.

If so, why would the robot want to kill the innocent cats when they pose no threats to his 'life'?

This has bugged me ever since I watched part 1. Please discuss.

B1 went berserk.. I don't think rational thought was driving his actions. Despite him being propped up as the poster-boy for machine resistance, he was probably just a hateful bastard who didn't give a rat's ass about humans, cats or anything. In which case he probably did it out of spite to hurt his owner even further. Like how some crazy bastards will kill your whole family before your eyes before they kill you.

BTW the cats are fictional. No real cats were harmed in the making of this short film so don't sweat too hard.

Would you happen to have any... flan?
