This is a Fairly Pathetic Movie

The only way this movie got that many 10s was because people who worked with the film put them there. I bet if you check the IP addresses on the votes, 90 of them come from Joshua Jackson's house.

Horrible acting by Jackson and the other geeky kid. To be honest, they've never been that good so this movie was probably destined to suck from the get go. The spanish girl wasn't bad but definitely not good.

Wasn't remotely impressed by the cinematography at all. The only enjoyable part was watching the actually running of the bulls which you'd have to be autistic to screw up, not to mention several shots were cut from previous film.

I would say the dialogue was butchered by the acting if there was anything left to butcher. At least Dennis Hopper has this excuse to scapegoat his unbearable attempt at being memorable. His drunken lines sounded like a teenagers attempt at being poetic for the first time.

I gave it a generous 5/10.

I just saw it after a very long waiting! I was very excited but was disappointed in the end.

To me, the movie is a bit cliché. A utopic postcard of Spain (sorry to say that but American should come to Europe to see that it is not as nice as that). I think the director believes Spain is just the best place! Come on!

The message is a bit childish: chose your path, either America (capitalism) or Spain (yourself, freedom). That's where the scenes in the bar with Dennis Hopper come. Completely sureal! Not convincing!

In the end I think the movie just lacks of spirit and doesn't really capture the essence of Pamplune and the fiesta. The storyline is too weak and has been done before. Even if I am not the biggest fan, you should rather check "L'auberge Espagnole" from Cedric Klapish.

The love story is okay.

I was so excited to see Josh again but then again, disappointed by his role. Not so great and the acting is average.

It's a nice little movie that shoots for low expectations and gets there quietly, just the kind that would sneak up on you at night, before you go to sleep. It has a very " lived " quality to it, as if the writer-director went there and lived the whole thing before making it into a movie.

Obviously the whole Spain vs America thing is flimsy at best but it makes for good cinema. And a whole lot of great trademark Dennis Hopper babbling.
