Ok so I know Roman was faking the whole time, but when he first comes home Norman barks at him b/c he doesnt like him, so how does he get Norman to believe he's Ryan later in the movie?? May seem insignificant but still humor me

When Jess starts to doubt Roman is really not her husband Ryan, they show Roman feed the dog a treat from his pocket, and comment on how the dog was getting fat from all the extra food.
The dog sold out his beloved mistress for snausages!
I doubt Norman knew that Roman was pretending to be Ryan. We saw earlier how Roman was mean to the dog, so it's not that surprising that seeing Roman come towards him after the accident, Norman gets a bit tetchy. After all, Roman still smelt and looked like himself, I don't think Norman is supposed to be a medium to the comatose. Roman just treats him nicer so he starts to like him.
