How did this end up so....bad?

Gellar does solid work with terrible dialogue and flawed plot progression, but she isn't able to save this movie. I mean it's at least entertaining and somewhat enjoyable, but step out of simple mindset and this would die. I'm so disappointed in it, because both the trailers looked like it could've been a great, complex, classy thriller, but what we got was flawed, cheesy, and flat-out lame. Easily Gellar's weakest film of her 2006-2009 collection of films (The Air I Breathe, Suburban Girl, Veronika Decides to Die, Southland Tales, The Return). Next to all of those, this sticks out like a sore thumb.

When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron.
