The most unrealistic?

What do you think are the top 5 most unrealistic things/storylines that happened throughout the series?

Personally, I think it has to be Dan getting out of jail after being in for only 4 or 5 years; I mean c'mon, the guy murdered someone, it made absolutely no sense for him to be "up for parole" 4 years into his term.

What do you think? What are some of the most unrealistic storylines in your view?

Clay's missing memory storyline. Dumbest ever.

The Sarah/Katie look-alike storyline. So unrealistic it's not even funny.

Tric being a successful business. How would an all ages club make their money if they can't sell alcohol to half the crowd, and why would adults want to go to a club where there are high school kids? And as someone else said, it getting big bands to play there.

Nathan and Haley affording life on their own in high school. In addition to a big fancy wedding. All on Haley's tips from Karen's Cafe. Please. I won't even get started on this one lol.

Ok this is gonna be 2-for-1 but whatever, they're generalizations about the whole cast lol. How so many rich/famous people came from (and were successful living in) such a small town. I would think it would be tough for a store like CoB to be successful in a small town, and I'm surprised Julian was able to find work in Tree Hill. And how pretty much none of the characters had parental lsupervision in high school.

Isn't that kind of like going to a concert, people of all ages go to those and the can't sell to under age kids. The only time we really ever saw them there is when a concert happened.

I always thought that Deb and Dan helped pay for the wedding. Of course we don't know for sure but thats what I always thought.

I don't think COB was successful, I think the main reason it stayed open was b/c Brooke lived there, I never got the impression that it was successful. I dont even think the store was open much. I mean it didnt open until i think half way through S5 and then by the 2nd episode of S6 it was closed and stayed closed there S6. I believe she mainly just used it as an office for the rest of S6. It opened back S7 but by the beginning of S8 it was closed yet again.
It actually doesn't surprise me that Julian could find work in NC. It's not like it use to be where all shows were shot in Cali or big cities, alot of production companies have found it cheaper to product shows in small states cities, i.e The walking dead is taped in Georgia.
Oh the parent thing, really the only one that I would say had no parents were Brooke, and Peyton. Lucas had Karen and Haley and Nathan had there parents, once they got married of course they had no need for parent supervision.

Maybe you're right about Tric, maybe kids were only allowed when they had concerts. That would make more sense than a club that was open to kids every night.

As for Nathan and Haley's wedding, I actually thought it never was specified who paid for it. But I watched again and Nathan commented when they got home that "the wedding wasn't cheap" and they had all the medical bills (after that limo crash off the bridge).

And yeah I noticed that there were never customers in CoB lol. As far as Julian's career, I know nothing about that field of work, so it was just a guess. It's just more about how as a whole so many of the cast became famous.

I realize there's an explanation for each one, but by S4, again, as a whole, the only one from the main cast who had parents supervising/present was Lucas (and I guess Mouth). Nathan and Haley were married and on their own, plus Peyton, Brooke, and Rachel, all lived on their own in their parents' houses or with each other.

You maybe right about the wedding, I just always assumed that maybe Deb and Dan helped at least pay for some of the wedding since Deb was on board with the marriage now.

In S4 we also saw Skills and Bevins parents, I just think since the parents weren't the important part of the story that we didn't see them alot. The only parents that were important were Dan, Deb and Karen.

The most unrealistic thing in the show was how Tree Hill was made out to be this small town, but how it was basically Hollywood by the time the show ended. The town had a famous NBA player, a celebrity fashion designer, a well known actress, models, a director, musicians, talk show hosts, and they all happened to know each other.

I man honestly its a TV drama show, who would want real life stuff, that would be boring, so of course most of the stories were unrealistic. Some stories might have had hints of real life, but thats what made the show interesting, I didn't want to see boring everyday life or else I wouldn't have watched!

I thought Peyton basically living by herself (s2 and 4 especially) at the age of 16-17 was unrealistic.. considering all the stuff that happened to her (getting shot, stalked, attacked). Where was her father?

reply

Definitely the Sarah/Katie storyline. It was totally ridiculous. Were they long lost twins? Cousins? Related at all? No two strangers look completely identical with the exception of hair color, it doesn't work that way.

reply

I agree with what has been mentioned Clay not remembering his son was terrible and totally unrealistic.

Nathan & Haley's relationship, Clay & Quinn conicedentely being there when Peyton & Lucas left, Peyton not dying, Jamie beating up Chuck, a lot of Brooke's storylines after season 4, her graduating after cheating on her tests and after confessing, people say Gossip Girl is a cliche show this is more then that
