Hi everyone, just started watching this and am loving it. I'm only halfway through season 1 and I saw on Imdb that some of the main actors aren't in all the seasons and on the poster its mostly randoms.
I was wondering how many seasons are actually good and have all the original cast, and if I should watch all nine seasons. Also heads up if any of my favourites (Haley, Lucas, Brooke, Nathan) get really crappy or out of character storylines. Thanks :)

Watch until season 6 if you just want the original cast and don't care to watch the new characters in the last 3 seasons. But that decision is up to you.
shareI personally say watch to the end. why only watch through s6, just go ahead and finish the next 3. There are only 2 of the main characters that aren't in those seasons. Do you know the ones that leave?

shareAs others have said its really up to you, but I just think if you watch up until S6, then why not watch it all. It all depends on the person really, but I enjoyed S7 and S9, S8 was one of my least 2 favorite season (although there was alot of good single episodes in that season) the other one was S2. But I say if you can stay with it, I would stick it out and see how it all ends.
shareWell, it will really be up to you. Either you will stay interested and continue to watch, or find yourself to be apathetic or bored with it and stop. I stopped watching midway through s6.

shareLike most said, I think the last 3 seasons are significantly worse, not even bc some of the main cast left, but I didn't like their replacements or just any of the stories nearly as much. HOWEVER, there's no way I couldn't know the ending lol and there are still good things in the last seasons. (8 is the worst but 9 is much better so don't lose hope).

The High school years were good. Then they jump to the future (4 years later) and it got boring to me.
I watched all of the years (season 9 was finally better), but it was a struggle to get through some of the later years (and I wanted to quit watching the show).
The show goes way off the rails in the later seasons, but I'm only 3 episodes left from the end. I feel I have to complete it since I started it.
