Has anyone seen all four Love Hina installments in English? (series, Christmas special, Easter special and Love Hina Again)

Do they change any of the voice actors?

reply

I don't think any of the original English voice actors from the series changed from the TV series all the way to Love Hina Again.

If they changed anything, it would be very minor characters. But I'm pretty sure none of the lead roles changed, at all. That would include all the Hina girls, Keitaro, Seta, Haruka, Sarah, Mitsume and even Kentaro, as well as Keitaro's two nerdy male friends (whose names escape me at the moment). All the English voice actors stayed the same.

Now, if I could solve a bigger mystery here, what I want to know is why on earth they gave Kitsune a Southern Gone-With-the-Wind accent. :P

reply

What gets me is in Azu Manga Daioh The Manga, Osaka's accent is likened to a Kind of Brooklyn one "fuhgeddaboudit", okay?
In the Anime, She's Southern.
I am much confused.

reply

Well, Osakan accents are not really like either, it's really up to the translator to decide which English accent is equivalent to which Japanese accent.

Most of the time, if the Characters are from Southern Japan, like Okinawa, they aways give them a southern voice. Its like how they can tell were they are from, Look at Jeff Foxworthy..

If you're talking about the OVA Love Hina Again vs. the TV series, you're incorrect. The English voices are still the same as they were in the series. In fact the entire English cast came back for that dub.
