This show needs to be revived.

I know that towards the end the quality had tapered off quite a bit, but the concept of this show was simply too good to let it end so easily. This is the type of show that could've gone on for many, many years, even with casting changes. The plot was what mattered most.

I agree. I am still so sad about it being canceled

reply

Agreed, it was such a great show.

Agreed. Like Law & Order, another show I wish would be revived, it has a premise where it could go on forever.

I don't disagree with a good show being carried on. However the show could do with some retooling. Many of the cops' personal dramas felt unconvincing and tacked on. Instead of informing and acting as motivation for their characters the interpersonal 'lives' were forced and a distraction to the drama.

Either come up with some really convincing drama or drop the distraction.

I came here to say this ??

It was a very expensive show to produce, due to having to hire 2 actors (older and younger) to play characters from the past as well as current time. The show did well in the ratings all the way to the end, despite the fact that it followed Football, which caused the show to start later than scheduled, at times. When it went off the air, it had an 8 - 10 million viewing audience.

I wouldn't think the actors made it expensive. I would think the music became the most expensive part. Licensing can be a pain for networks and producers.

It is still a all time favorite for me and I don't care for cop procedural shows. They had great actors and the flashbacks with the music was good. I loved guessing who the killer was usually was easy but still fun.
