Brilliantly underrated film

Before hated movie I want to recommend highly.

THE VILLAGE (2004)

Such a unique film, poorly marketed through deceptive trailers... created an immediate bias and expectation... but if you watch it completely open, and really understand that it is a microcosm of our world, built out of fear... it's really quite an incredible film about human fragility and the careful cultivation of hope... I would actually now call this Shyamalan's best movie.

I wish the soundtrack were available on record. It kind of belongs there don't you think? I own the soundtrack on CD and it's absolutely gorgeous, a must listen for any lover of soundtracks.

Agreed

Also agreed. The film would work even without the twist.

A friend of mine views the film as the "Beast" being real. He likes the idea of just maybe, it's actually there.

That statement hit the nail on the head. Well said and totally agree.

I agree, this film is definitely a gem once one get past the rather boring trailers.

I was in awe when the twist was finally revealed and I understood the background perfcetly.
