The same company that churned out all those cheap B-pic/exploitation/drive-in flicks throughout the '80s? Why would a "Christian" movie align itself with such heathens?

Actually, it isn't the same company. The New World Pictures that produced ECHOES is a production company located in Dallas and this is their first feature-length production.

Not according to this site. Click on the New World link under Production Companies and all the schlocky horrors of the Reagan-Bush years come up.

I know. IMDB has connected the right company with the wrong resume. I assure you, these people did not do those films.
