Sammie

Does anybody know what happened to Sammie? When is his six years up?

I really appreciated being introduced to the inmates before being told of their crimes. Each individual as a human had a story and life, a life being wasted as much as any murder victim.

Well, at some point, I think I caught the date of 2003 or 2004 as being the year(s) the film takes place, so I guess that makes it 2009 or 2010.

Sammie has since been moved to another prison.

I'm sad to hear Sammi was moved - he seemed to function well at the facility overseeing in the computer lab, and he appreared to love the Shakespeare group. Any idea why he was moved?

In the documentary it was so surprising that his parole ws not only turned down, but he can't even re-apply for 6 years. I wonder why?

Not really. I saw the prisoners laughing, eating, socializing, hugging their families. Can their dead victims do those things?

reply

They don't care. They're dead.

Depending on your opinion of the afterlife - yes, they can. Just not on this earth.

Sammie is in Green River Correctional Complex now. No word on when he next comes up for parole, but he was deferred again last year. I don't get it.

This is a late reply, but apparently he got in trouble for computer fraud, so that's why he was transferred, and it most likely didn't help his parole case.
