The Room by Tommy Wiseau is a Hitchcockian thriller.

Everyman hero in extraordinary circumstances: Johnny, your average American nice guy who loves baseball.

Woman who is the voice of conscience: Michelle

Suspense: Lisa and Mark are having an affair without Johnny knowing. However, we know this - that's suspense.

Humour(Bonus points if dark humour): Jokes about sex life, abuse victims.

Sex(or sexual perversity) plays a key part in the story. All of those steamy scenes between Lisa and Johnny & Lisa and Mark come under this. Belly button is an example of sexual perversity.

Macguffins and Checkov's guns: Johnny's take recorder(macguffin). Gun stolen from Chris R(Checkov's gun).

Chase scenes: Mark and Johnny running through the forest.

Murder: Johnny kills himself. Peter is killed by a fall while playing baseball( Also worth noting here is the fact that many Hitchcock characters 'fall' to their deaths.

It is also set in San Francisco and has an air of surrealism akin to Vertigo. Those greenscreens during the rooftop scenes evoke a sense of Hitchcockian unreality( which Hitchcock achieved via rear projection).
