Just seen it for the first time (PCC, London) and got a High Five from Tommy

Hadn't planned on going, but was in central London with a few hours to kill so thought I would pop along.

It was on at The Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square, I think it had been on all week with 2-3 showings a day in its big screen and its generally seen as being the home of The Room in the UK.
The screening had about 8 tickets left, and I got one right by the right side aisle.

Was surprised on arrival to see Tommy and Greg in the foyer signing and selling merch. Also meant it was hard to get to the loo, as they were blocking the entrance to the gents. Lucky I did not need to go.

Had never watched the Room in full, but had been well aware of it the last couple of years and knew most of the gags, rituals, and had seen edited versions on youtube. I saw the full version was on there too, but I couldn't be arsed to watch it that way.

Anyway, Tommy and Greg did a funny 15 minutes Q&A with the audience before the show. Actually before this I had seen Tommy's Jean and belt clad arse arsing down the aisle to my right to the stage.

I admit I was a bit arse star struck.

Then after the Q&A he started making his way back the same way, with his hand out to recieve high fives. And I got to high five him.

Quite bizarre that, seeing the guy on stage, getting a high five and then settling down to watch him in a movie.

Anyhow, the movie started and I was surprised to find that I pretty much enjoyed most of the :experience', they did the spoons, etc. I thought I might get a bit bored of it, and it did lag a bit in the middle, but overall it was good fun.

Definitely the way to see the full movie. For example the Love making scenes are very funny in the cinema, but just dull on a device.

Just thinking how much he made from that one showing. I think it's about 350 seats xa fee of £12.50-£15 (let's say an average of £14) so £4900 without the merch, etc. At a guess say he takes home half (after overheads and cinema take their cut), so £2,500 profit a showing

Times that by about 20 showings this week, approx £50,000 for Tommy (and Greg) this week. Plus a few quid for merch, etc.

Not bad at all.
