Continuity

Yes, I know it's too much to ask for continuity in a movie like this, but it seems it might've made sense originally and was mostly screwed up during editing in post-production.

I mean, the day after Johnny supposedly got drunk and hit Lisa, Claudette comes to visit her daughter at least three times with them wearing a different outfit each time. We also have the confrontation with Chris-R and Mark in bed at what appears to be nighttime before Johnny finally finds out about Lisa's false claim that he hit her the night before and proceeds to act like nothing's wrong at daytime on the roof.

The day of the birthday doesn't make sense either. It starts with Mark and Johnny jogging in the park, then cuts to a sweeping Lisa getting a visit from Mark and Michelle who has brought groceries for the party. Then Mark and Johnny take another jog and both return to the house. Then we see a NIGHTTIME view of the city followed by a DAYTIME view, after which we see Johnny leave for work again and Lisa still sweeping with no groceries in sight. Then it cuts to Johnny walking the streets at night again.

Why was it edited this way?! Apparently Wiseau insisted on filming everything in chronological order, so why put everything out of order again???

Good question. Part of the fun of the movie is the “why”. Everything about its plot and production is so bizarrely terrible, it lends the experience a fun sense of mystery - as if somewhere in the mess, there is a thread of logic that will make sense of it all.
