Who is Joker?
I have seen the movie and some of the episodes from the series. In the movie Joker was a good guy, but in the series he is a bad guy. Why is this? Is there something I missed?

Basically in the movie he's like M is to James Bond, a director of sorts.
When the British Empire falls, Joker wants to return it to its former glory by resurrecting Mr. gentlman (plot of tv series)
In order to successfully do this, they have to find a human who can hold all of Mr. gentleman's knowledge, which is inside the son of Nancy Makahari. Yomiko disagrees and takes one of the volumes and goes into hiding.
