I was just wondering what camera Darren used for filming the homemade movies when he was young.I don't know if that's an odd thing to want to know, but I'm just curious.

Looks like a JVC GR-C7, which was current in 1986. The first VHS-C was in 1984.

Before that a video camera were attached to a shoulder slung recording unit. He would have used something like that at first.

He says in the documentary that it was in 1981 or 82 that the family got its first video camera.
They were well off, they probably would have switched to the VHS-C as soon as it came out in 84. That would be the red JVC-GR-C1 (shown above).
