Shooting this and ending up on 1.85:1?

Hey,

Since they shot this on the Panasonic DVX100 which has 4:3 CCD's. How did they get 1.85:1? Any ideas?

The camera has a letterbox option, and they may have cropped it in post for theatrical release and shot protecting for a 1.85 ratio.

Never go with a hippy to a second location.

The DVX100-A and B can shoot in 16x9 using digital squeeze which gets great 16x9 footage, or they could have shot with the anamorphic adapter attachment. From there, yes they would have to crop a little more off the top and bottom to get 1.85
