BAD DVD COVER/ WHO PRODUSED IT?

Just saw it on dvd, and loved it. Have a few questions--Who produced it and why is the cover so bad/misleading? Was this an american productiom, I noticed most of the kid actors had a british accent. If so, why? And in regards to the dvd cover, it is dreadful
it is being represented as a surfing movie!! The was no paraot or a dolfin in the film. Please let me know something that I'm missing

I agree about the picture since the IMDB page has that one. My copy of the DVD doesn't have that picture though. It's got a much more suitable one.

The DVD cover I saw also was very different to the one on IMDB. When I first saw that picture come up I wondered in IMDB had the right movie! I agree the picture is totally misleading.

I just watched this movie in my grad school anthropology class, and the version we saw had the same cover IMDB has. The image was on the DVD menu as well... I kept waiting for the parrot to show up in the movie and it never did!

the actors didnt have british accents.. they had new zealand accents..
and the cover is soooo not like the story!!

I find a lot of people in the US can't tell the difference between british, new zealand and australian accents (except for really over the top ones like crocodile dundee) but get offended if we confuse accents from the US and canada. :p

Strange, and extremely narrow minded in opinion. I know many different nationalities and never have I found this type of attitude from them nor from any people from the US. You should try not to let your prejudices influence you so greatly.

I know, now that I see the IMDB page of it, the cover the movie has in most of the versions is totally misleading! But that's actually not the cover I have, I have a version with 2 DVDs wich include the original from BYU, actually this is the cover I have:

And it's actually a much better cover, it does reflect what the movie is! Not some surfing vacation movie on a tropical island!

The 1969 version was produced by the Mormon Church so perhaps this version was too.
