Chiharu's segment - brilliant!

Did anyone else find the style of Chiharu's segment to be a cut above what the series had produced so far?

I loved the whole in-and-out of the house approach! It had a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET touch to it, and made you feel alot of dread for her in that, no matter what happened, she was never gonna get out!

I can understand how some people found it to be out-of-place from the rest of the movie, but I think that is precisely why I liked it so much - it was a change of pace from the normal and increasingly predictable style of the other vignettes.

I agre entirely, certainly my favourite part of the film. A great sequence from
beginning to end.

I agree. It was my favorite part of the movie because it was so out-of-place and different. The confusion about what is real and what isn't, the fear of going to sleep, the mixing of reality and dreams... it was great.

I enjoyed the scene, the fact she couldn't tell if she was awake or not, but the thing I didnt get was both scenes, like both real? She had her friends necklace from ripping it off her then she was on bus or something with the necklace then back at the house again? Then shes elsewhere then at the house? Does she die twice?
Im guessing the house was real as the other victim saw the girls?

I also loved this part, but why was she targeted to begin with? Did she ever even go in the house?

The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return

I agree, but is really is just one of the SO many weird scenes in this movie. Seriously, this doesn't feel like a Grudge film at all.

Several years late, but Chiharu was actually in Ju-on The Grudge 1. She was one of the girls that visited Izumi (the detective's daughter) while she was losing her mind. That's how she got infected with the curse. That, or Chiharu decided to get a look at the house off-camera after seeing Izumi.

That's an incredible scene. I just watched it a few seconds ago. That scene is a big part of why this is probably my favorite of the Ju On movies.

No disrespect intended, sir, but shove it up your ass!

I just saw this on Netflix and that was the only sequence to make me feel anything really at all. I felt bad for both of the girls and actually wanted them to survive.
