Sometimes Toshio is real

I'm not looking for an explanation or anything, but I've noticed that in "Ju-On: The Grudge", "J-O: TG 2" and the American "The Grudge" there are times when Toshio appears as a normal boy, and not the white ghost. For example, the first time Rika sees him in Ju-On, and when Karen first sees him in the grudge. Also, in Ju-On when Rika's friend, the school teacher is at the house "waiting for the parents", Toshio is a normal boy. A few other places as well. Interesting...

Anyone else notice this or have any thoughts?

He's still a ghost. When Toshio is white, that means his spirit is combined with the spirit of a black cat.

OK, I agree he's a ghost, but why the cat? Is it his obsession with cats? And if he didn't die the same as the others, is that why he still has a human form? And as I said in another post (and so did someone else) what about Rika? Is she prevented from returning or is there another reason she's gone and Toshio isn't? Much to ponder.

There are some flashbacks in both Ju-On: The Grudge 1 & 2 (I can't remember the American versions), and in these parts Toshio is alive. Such as in Ju-On: The Grudge 2, he appears in the dining room, behind where the horror actress is sitting. She doesn't interact with him, but it's a portal back to when he was alive.

Well, it's established firmly in this installment that the curse can cause the affected to shift back in forth through time. Perhaps that's what's happening?
