One of the worst films I've ever seen....

There is nothing more to say here.

I could count 1000 movies I've seen that are worse than this. You really need a life

reply

It's bad..I mean it is God Awful..but it's just another disappointing sequel among hundreds of others.

In order to rank as one of the worst movies ever it's got to be like Freddy Got Fingered or Highlander 2 or Ocean's 13.

Shall we play a game?

reply

Yeah I got a life and its pretty great! Sry to hear you've seen a 1000 movies worse than this! Talk about a sad life!!! Sry for your situation buddy.

reply

Correct

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

reply

It's not that good but a large portion of blockbusters are worse. This year alone has had more than a few and last year had some highly acclaimed ones that were actually pretty miserable. Spielberg's hand at least guarantees a certain basic level of quality.

Raiders is an amazing classic. Skull is complete garbage. Sry just my opinion.

reply

Crusade is my least favourite.Even seeing it back then, I couldn't get my head around the old Knight still living in a cave.Total nonsense. And Sean Connery is persistently over rated in everything he has done.

That's a fair judgement but if we are going off of not being able the wrap your head around the plot Skull takes the cake! Not only does it make little to no sense it (my opinion) was just stupid. Plot was stupid, action was stupid, everything about this movie was a dumpster fire. Idk I just thought it was terrible. Thus for me it's one of the absolute worst films I've ever had the displeasure of sitting through. That being said again the original trilogy is classic especially Raiders. Just a great classic film.

Raiders 7/10
Skull 6/10

Both are silly light entertainment made with above average skill.
Raiders makes marginally more sense and is more even, Skull has a pretty dull second half which is its main shortcoming.

reply

I agree with the silly entertainment aspect but Skull seemed sloppy and poorly made. I just couldn't get into it. It's not like I'm a huge Indy fan either I just love film in general and everyone has different taste and what they want from a movie. Raiders I really thought was a good classic film. TOD I didn't care for really at all. Last crusade was ok not great. It's all good though!

It's funny Spielberg has made some of the best movies I've ever seen (Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, and the list goes on) but he has made a few I just scratch my head at. Skull is just one of those.

Yeah, he was clearly past his prime. They say success ruins a director and it seems apparent here.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) - 6 outta 10 stars

Can't believe some of these comments! Raiders is a 9.5/10, Crusade's an 8, Temple is a 7.5 and Kingdom is a 5.5. And not understanding the Knight in the cave at the end of Crusade? Are you serious? The story was about the Fountain of Youth, which the Knight drank from to stay alive to protect the Grail.

Kingdom was an insult. They said it would be a throwback, made the same way as the others with real stunts and action and very little CGI and the entire movie was CGI. The opening scenes look so cheap, you can tell they're just standing on a soundstage against a greenscreen. LaBeouf was horrible, Karen Allen and Ford were awful together and Blanchett as a Russian was embarrassing.

reply

and Blanchett as a Russian was embarrassing.
Actually that was the only passable performance IMO. Her role and lines were crap but she did a decent job of portraying a Russian antagonist. She really is a great actor.

reply

Definitely a great actor, but just such a cliched role/character.

reply

I know it's just your opinion, but I still believe you haven't seen enough movies if you condemn this as "one of the worst films ever".

But what can I say, opinions differ. Indy franchise is one of my favorite franchises ever. I enjoy all four of them.

In my defense I've seen thousands of movies. My time frame is 60's through present day mostly with exceptions here and there but to be honest with great resources like IMBD I don't have to suffer through crappy movies that much anymore. When I watch a movie I'm totally invested. Before I dedicate 2 plus hours to a film ill research it. I watched this film in theaters despite the negative reviews I just found it cringe worthy.
