What are your 3 biggest problems with KOTCS

1) Relatively weak story.
2) WAY too much CGI.
3) Shia LeBouef.

How about you guys?

reply

Many things wrong with it but I'll just pick out 3 in no particular order:

1) Comically, over the top, logic-defying stupid moments. This film is littered with them and doesn't seem to care how stupid it gets. Maybe this falls under too much CGI as well, because with the CGI they don't have to rely on practical effects and stunts so much and therefore they can stretch what is believable. The nuking the fridge, the swinging monkeys, the truck chase...it's all so implausible.

2) Weak villains. They are seen enjoying dancing with their captives around camp fires and racing with college kids. The main henchman gives Indy and Marian a ticking off for arguing like it's some comedy panto routine. Mac is some sort of double agent who keeps backstabbing Indy one moment and then acts like a big baby the next. You can't take any of them seriously enough.

3) Too many characters. Half of them felt unnecessary. Maybe it's me and I would rather a darker version of Indiana Jones more in keeping with the first movie. If you're tagging his son, his old flame, his backstabbing best friend, and another old associate of his along for the ride, then there isn't any room for dark, as it gets bogged down in humour, which doesn't really work by the way e.g. "say grab the rope".

1. The last crusade ended perfectly and there was no need for another sequel.
2. Harrison Ford was too old to play Indiana Jones.
3. Lack of a real villain. Every time the commies caught the gang, the worked together and Indiana escaped. They arrived at the site regardless of the fighting which made half the movie moot.

There are honestly too many to narrow it down to just 3.

1 It was conceived
2 It was made
3 It exists (and connot be undone)

Shia Lebouef
Fantastical action sequences- I realize the original 3 had them but they were restrained to the limits of practical effects, and thus had to stay within the realm of the possible.
Crappy story
