Yea i have seen alot of ANime this is firs tone to ever make me like CRY. I mean i cried. Tears came from my eyes, i couldnt believe it.

Yeah, the final four OVA episodes we're pretty sad, I kinda liked it. Also, Cowboy Bebop still ranks as my top anime, especially for it's ending too, but that's all i'll say. But Grave of the Fireflies still ranks as the saddest, or maybe most depressing anime I've ever seen.

I just felt so hopeful that in the end everyone would survive...I guess the pack did in a way because everything recycled and started over but still..very tragic. I loved this show but it was so heart breaking those last few episodes. I probably can't watch it again for a while.

I've heard Saikano is depressing.
To me, Wolf's Rain is sad (probably one of the saddest, if not the saddest I've seen) but in the end it manages to be hopeful -- not like "everyone will get their happy ending" but more like "it'll be alright." Does anyone know what I mean? I don't know how to explain...

Wolf's Rain is quite sad. Blue's realizations she's a wolf, Toboe, and Kiba leaves "paradise"
Cowboy Bebop actually had me real sad in Hard Luck Woman and Waltz for Venus.
Neon Genesis Evangelion sad? no but it's quite morbid.
Grave of the Fireflies is probably the saddest anime film, it's quite tragic.
Miyazaki films have some moving parts as well.
Elfen Lied is not so much sad as you just overall feel bad for the characters especially Lucy.
I've just finished watching the series on DVD and have to admit that sometimes I just couldn't face watching the next episode for a couple of days as I just knew what would happen. Tense, gripping, emotionally involving, a true masterpiece.
Something is calling me, I feel the Gravity, of it all. (Wolf's Rain)
