I was hoping to see something different in the end of the anime cartoon.
not the sort of happy ending - but ..........
I was watching every episode so eagerly full of expectations that as any other based on manga cartoon would end up so not like European or American kind of cartoon.
And there you are!
I do not even know what ever happened to my beloved Hao.

I only have seen it for the first time couple of weeks ago....so for me it was then
but that is not the point - the point is that the ending was unexpected
The whole second half to the anime was made up, it didnt follow the manga at all. Any end was a unexpected.
It's like the end to the movie "Shane", no one knows what happens later.
Still it was an excellent end.
(I would have liked the anime to continue into the 2nd tournament or to "Funbari no Uta" where Yoh is married with a Kid but thats not gonna happen).
in this case I hope if the continuation is on - that Hao is alive
