So how was the Ryan story going to turn out?

And why did they have a giant fan following him around?

No one knows. Barbara Hall has never said. And so far, I've asked Chris Marquette, Becky Wahlstrom and Amber Tamblyn and none of them have any real clue. I guess whatever the plans were for S3, it was never even discussed with the actors. All they've been able to say is that Ryan was going to be an adversary for Joan and we'd see a struggle between dark and light. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

You seriously asked actors what was going to happen in an unwritten season? Lol...it's fiction...just make something up in your mind and that's what the ending can be. lol.

I did. Because it was not certain when they shot the last show of season two whether or not they'd get picked up. So who knows what might've been discussed for the possible third season, you know? It was in interviews and people ask that all the time, so why not pose the question to people who actually worked on the show?

And for the record, I know it's fiction and I have made something up, and written it down. It's posted on fanfiction.net. I loved JoA. Sue me.

I thought it was a great show too:) I just don't put much effort into a show's "what could happen" once it's cancelled, because in reality, even if something HAD been written, by the time it actually makes it thru the director and onto the screen, the script is completely different. That's why I just say, instead of putting all the effort to track down unfilmed scripts, just make something up. What you make up is just as viable as what ever scripts you find for how things could have turned out.

They never got so far as writing any third season scripts, though I think I did read somewhere that they had an outline for the season. Mainly what I wanted to know was if they were going to turn the Subdefectives into Joan's Army. Was she going to have her own Scooby Gang? And also, I wondered if they were going to continue to have Ryan be a corrupting influence on Adam, so that part of Joan's struggle would have to be bringing Adam back to the light. And hopefully bringing them back together.

But in the end, my fanfic has nothing at all to do with Ryan and everything to do with getting Adam and Joan back together. Because after all is said and done, that's really the only thing that mattered to me.

-As long as you can imagine these things having happened in the next season, then they happened. :)

Adam and Joan together were ok. I tended to not pay attention too much when thier scenes came on as I found them a little boring. My favorite scenes were those where we would see resolution to Joan's actions. So emotional.
