I call Gob (talking pronunciation)... Gob with a G.

My daughter corrects me and says it's just pronounced 'Job'.

I know his name is Gob (pronounced Job) but do AD fans call him Gob (with a G) because I have always since the show first aired.

So Gob like Job or Gob? :)

What do you mean? His name is GOB- an abbreviation of George Oscar Bluth. It's not Job.

I'm talking pronunciation.

They pronounce it 'Job', as in the Bible Job.

I call him Gob with a 'G'.

Guess it was only my friends and me that always called him Gob 'with a G' (like the reporter in episode one).

Pardon the over-analysis, but I think the acronym/nickname "G.O.B." is pronounced like the biblical "Job" instead of with a hard "G" (as in "gobble") because it "borrows" the soft "G" in "George".

If Gob were a Hispanic character, the nickname would be pronounced "hob". 😉

Your daughter is correct.

A few people call him "gob" as a mistake, but it's pronounced like biblical "job".

Agree with another poster that it is pronounced "Jobe" because his first name is George but like everything else he believes it makes no sense.

Clearly it says Gob which is another running joke.

I always assumed it would be because both the parents hate him so they wouldn't want him to be named George.
