Scrubs?

Isn't this basically a rip-off of Scrubs and made into a movie?

I love Dave Thomas, I mean he was on SCTV and is from Ontario, but still, I can't help but compare this to one of the highest rated sitcoms on TV right now.

And BTW on TV they're advertising this as "Intern Academy", and this title doesn't come up when you look that up.

Yeah, but that's like saying NYPD Blue is a rip off of Law & Order, or Babylon 5 is a rip off of Deep Space Nine, or C.S.I. is a rip off of Quincy.

There have been 'wacky doctor' movies and TV shows before Scrubs. How about Scrubs being a rip-off of M*A*S*H?

Think about what you're saying, my friend. I think you'll find that you make less sense than you believe you are.

This is far more clear-cut of a rip-off not just being influenced by Scrubs. It was obviously made to cash-in on Scrubs' popularity. There are paralells for just about every character. Also, this movie is terrible.

I bumped this only because your argument was terrible.

I saw this at a friend's place last year and it would have been funny if I hadn't seen almost all their jokes on Scrubs first.

It's one thing to be influenced by another body of work, but it's a different beast entirely when it's ripping off the same jokes and gags.

Haha, this is EXACTLY what i thought when i caught this movie on Comedy Central, right after back-to-back Scrubs episodes! I understand that their have to be certain dynamics going on with the characters in these situations, but they even have the whole first-person narration going on! though i cant say this movie completely hijacks the Scrubs mojo, because this movie is not good, and Scrubs is.

I agree with the poster, This is utter drivel, depending on bathroom humor for the most part whie Scrubs is intelligent and insightful. I am a former nurse and gave up on this movie in the first half hour.

I'd say that it's a ripoff of scrubs, not just something similar.

It's the same setting, wacky hi jinks of interns at a teaching hospital

Nerdy main character who narrates the goings on.

Dave Thomas' whole performance as the cantankerous chief of medicine was basically a Bob Kelso impersonation. From the delight he gets calling interns out for getting answers wrong during rounds to calling the interns "white coats" because that's what they wear. Dr. Kelso has told interns "you are nothing but a large pair of scrubs to me."

Never watched SCRUBS. This film is okay. Nothing spectacular. Just a modern sex comedy without nudity. Even though it is ten years old.
