I had no idea he had a bitter rivalry with picasso

I have read atleast 4 modigliani books, both biographys and about his work, and i have never heard anything about him being in a bitter rivalry with piccasso. Was this just made up fort the movie?

Yeah, it must have been just for the movie. I haven't really heard of any bitter rivalry between he and Picasso...But were they friendly?

They were friends actually, and some parts were real..like them going to visit that old painter, but the rest was just made up for the movie and in picasso's death bed his last breath was actually "Modigliani"..

I tottaly agree with morganf.I just saw the moovie on t.v.amd i think is a parody specialy in the way artists are portrayed.And i am sorry to say andy garcia is the worst choise for the role.No depth no interpretation.He better stick to his usual roles.But than again what can anybody expect from holywood market...
