There is a memorial to him on findagrave.com under the name Anthony G. Hillerman. He is buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Winner of the Silver and Bronze star medals for WWII combat. He stayed in pain due to war wounds. His daughter, Anne Hillerman, has written 8 non fiction books. She now has written a new Leaphorn/Chee book called "Spider Woman's Daughter. It hit the NY Times Best Seller list.
