I actually have some quetions about the plot because ist seems that there are even different interpretations about the plot

My idea:
Ewa was the daughter of Paul who now pretended to be Daniel (last group picture)?. Maybe he killed Daniel but I don't know the reason. That's very open to guesswork because Ewa does not identify Paul on the photo in front of the cop. Anna Mouglalis was actually Ewa (see pictures of the detective) and Magdalena Mielcarz was Milla.

Well, it's now five years after your post, but I thank you for the German link.

I watched - and enjoyed - this movie with english subtitles that appeared to be a direct google translation from polish, only about 80% accurate. I could follow for the most part, but the subtleties at the end of the movie were a struggle. My Italian is virtually non-existent, so unless they were saying 'please', 'thank you' or 'I beg your pardon', I was lost.

I agree with the German interpretation.

I missed the name switch of the two girls, though, thanks for that.

Daniel Auteuil is, as always, excellent.
