I signed up to IMDb to say how bad this movie is

That's really all I wanted to say. This movie is such a horrid sequel to the first that it makes me cry. To be honest, being paired with the this horrible, lame excuse for a movie, Starship Troopers 1 loses a part of it's soul. I have yet to see the third, however.

im with you on this dude. im literally 2 mins and 15 secs into the movie and i can tell this is some low budget "im a fan so ill make a sequel" crapfest. it looks like it was shot as an amateur film, half of the CG is cuts from the first film so far. im seriously thinking about skipping right to the third ffs.

I enjoyed it but i agree it shouldnt have been starship troopers film.

This is the worst movie I've ever seen. I don't know how anyone can like it. The first one is so good!

reply

First one was good, lacking some storyline and relying to much on effects, but the second one is worse than a movie I was forced to watch in a 7th grade health class 13 years ago...

Top 3 worst sequels:

- Highlander 2
- Lawnmower Man 2
- Starship Troopers 2

Since Lawnmower Man 2 I haven't seen a sequel so horrible as this one.

agreed.

Well; at least now I've got three coffee coasters.

Out of curiosity, what are the other two?

You snoze, you loze.

Uwe Boll films?

reply

Possibly...

I don't poly-cotton to coping tropes, even my own.

This shouldn't even be called Starship Troopers. It blemishes the good name the original movie has. The third movie is not that bad, at least it stays within the spirit of the first. But this piece of horse manure has nothing to do with the original story and the mere fact they called this Starship Troopers is an offence punishable by hanging.

One against.

Definitely not the best movie I've ever seen, but certainly not the worst.

I think that the film operates well in the world of the original movie.

Considering that the original screen writer, producer, and creature F/X guy all were part of this, it is easily part of the same universe.

Yes, some of the acting is poor, and this is more of a horror/suspense film than Verhoeven's awesome commentary on war films that is the fist flick. However, it has some nice nudity, goofy dialogue, and of course, those scary, super cool arachnids.

In my opinion, despite the low production value this is head and shoulders above the trash that is the CGI cartoon series that came out with the Starship Troopers name.

ok ill throw in my 2 bits first off i agree with the topic this movie is a steaming pile this movie is kind of a joke to the series id recommend that most of you skip this one unless your the type like me who watch movies in sequence to finish the saga but this movie really doesnt have anything to do with starship troopers other than the bugs being there and the cg ripped from the 1st movie pass this one up ladies and gents
