One against.
Definitely not the best movie I've ever seen, but certainly not the worst.
I think that the film operates well in the world of the original movie.
Considering that the original screen writer, producer, and creature F/X guy all were part of this, it is easily part of the same universe.
Yes, some of the acting is poor, and this is more of a horror/suspense film than Verhoeven's awesome commentary on war films that is the fist flick. However, it has some nice nudity, goofy dialogue, and of course, those scary, super cool arachnids.
In my opinion, despite the low production value this is head and shoulders above the trash that is the CGI cartoon series that came out with the Starship Troopers name.
