I loved it!!!

Just watched it...and I am completely impressed.

I had been putting this off for years. I had seen a number of Guy Maddin's earlier films, and while I found them visually interesting, they lulled me to a very peacful slumber.

But this film is a whole different animal. while it does take the "old movie" asthetic from Maddin's earlier work...it interjects a lot of comedy, great performances, and a story so absurd your jaw has has to drop.

I am definatly going to buy this for my collection. It is one that needs to be watched a few times. In fact, it makes me want to revisit some of Maddin's earlier works...as I may have missed something.

A great example of surrealism. A great example of filmmaking. A great example of comedy. A great example of ART.
