Explanation for scene when he has his coat on and kisses her goodbye?

I am confused with 2 scenes in particular.
The director presents 1 scene in middle of the film when he arrives back from showering, sits down in bed w/ the girl, the girl showers, and then he seems to leave. The director presents another scene at the end where she is in bed and Alex kisses her goodbye. Seeing as this whole movie transpired in 24 hours and they only have one sexual encounter, how can he have left her twice?
Is the director giving audience different perspectives, or what actually is going on here?

hey come on, the director is just reconstructing and this is called "reconstruction".

This is not exactly the only inconsistency! As newburgerz says, it's a self-conscious (re)construction, so I'm looking forward to reading the comments on the other thread for this film. Have you checked that out?

Well... in the film what happens is after sleeping together, he gets up and gets dressed, takes her picture and then at the end it shows him put the ring on her and leave. I have a feeling that goes together but there is everything the director put inbetween. The way the film plays out is he gets out of bed, gets dressed, and then it cuts to him coming out of the shower and going to her. Well... in reality, why would he be naked, get dressed, and then get naked and take a shower, and go back to the bed, talk to her, and then get dressed again.

Perhaps what really happened is it was just a one night stand but there is a reflection of what might have happened if he hadn't just gotten up and left but instead stayed with her. Maybe she would have left her husband for him. I think it's just a "what if" type of scenario.

i think it sounds like a good explanation. the rest of the movie, him staying with her or at least trying to stay with her, is just a "what if"-perspective...

anyway... it's right... she lies in the wrong bed... it's another bed in both scenes and another hotelroom with for instance another door (tree-coloured resp. white)... but maybe that's just art... ;-)

The scenes are in different rooms.

The first is in the swish hotel.

The second after the second pick up.
