A latter day comedy...get it? Hahahaha. Oh dear. This is a terrible adaptation with terrible acting, but I can always forgive Darcy. There hasn't been a bad Darcy yet, but Colin Firth will always remain my favorite. I still wonder why they decided to "Mormonize" it.
shareI happen to enjoy this adaptation very much. I think the plot and the characters are instantly recognizable. They "Mormonized" it to show that the themes are timeless and universal. The story has also been "Bollywoodized" (Bride & Prejudice) and modernized (Bridget Jones's Diary). Do you hate those too?
If "Emma" can be redone as "Clueless," and "Taming of the Shrew" can be redone as "10 Things I Hate About You," then why can't P&P be revisited as "A Latter-Day Comedy?"
Same here. I didn't realize Clueless as being the modern version of Emma, until now you mentioned it here. XD
