Boring?!?! Hardly! It's an utter gem, up there with that other classic "Whistle Down the Wind". I think you need an education in film.

Actually, I agree with the original poster. I wanted to like this film, but found it really very boring. For all the talk of the layers of this film and how brilliant and magnificent it is, I just couldn't see it. I'm a fan of Boyle, and a fan of this kind of movie, and even a fan of the themes involved. But I just couldn't get into this story at all. I think people want to like it because it's got a nice message, it's sweet, and it's a child's view of the world. But if you don't connect with it for whatever reason, "boring" is definitely the right word. I couldn't wait for it to end. Sorry to all who love it. But yes, opinions can differ.
