lacking?

Am I the only one that thought this DVD was lacking? Don't get me wrong, its the best music dvd i've ever had, but its missing a ton of songs: heartbreaker, When the levee breaks, good times, bad times, babe I'm gonna leave you, The battle of evermore. just to name a few. are these on "The song remains the same?"

Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You is on the first disc in an extra for Danish radio. Battle of Evermore would be difficult, because Sandy Denny would have to be hanging around backstage for a long time. Also, the absence of Heartbreaker is exlained in the booklet; the audio survived and is played over the end credits after Knebworth, but the visuals were unsalvagable.

Zeppelin have performed Battle of Evermore live several times with Pagey taking
over Sandy Dennys vocal. They performed it at Earls Court in 75

It was not performed at Earls Court in 75. It was performed on the 77 tour, with Jonesy on vocals and the 3 necked instrument.

It was Jonesy who sang on BoE. I only found this out recently. Please excuse my ignorance.

That's true, those are missing from the DVD. But I'll get over it, because I just saw the Robert Plant concert, and he did a bunch of Led Zep songs, and some of them were the ones you listed above. So I'm happy...it's the closest I'll ever get to seeing the band live or having those songs on the DVD...

What Would Leatherface Do?

You guys act as if everything the band ever did was filmed and filed, and that when they assembled the DVD they only chose what they felt like choosing. Remember this was a different time - before everything any successful band did was filmed in multiple angles and digitally enhanced.

By rights, this should make what IS on this DVD all the more cherished. Some of this film and video was NEVER intended as an archive - such as the Earl's Court footage, which is only really meant to enhance the live experience (no long shots). So there isn't a "video" for your favorite song? This band didn't make "videos" - what is on the DVD is what survived from early career promotions. What came after the band 'retired' in the '80s was MTV-era projects created LONG after the band were still in the trenches.
