A Good idea maybe someone could make this game into a film. like Never Say Never Again but hopefully it wouldnt cause a thing like Never Say Never Again against Octopussy!
I would like Pierce Return once more!!!!! As James Bond!!!
I agree with you so much with that, the casting IN A COMPUTER GAME is first rate with stars you'd expect to see in a bond film.
The plot of the game is so much better than die another day, why did mgm not take the script for this and make that into the film ? Hey who knows it might happen it could be the film, and it should be
Cheers m8... I wish they could made this into a movie cause just like you said its got the cast for a bond movie and certainly has the bond action. Willaim Dafoe would be a fantastic bond villain...
The script is poor with atrocious dialogue and plot writing (even I can spot the plotholes instantly, and I usually don't care much about them). There are good bits, but also horrible bits, that made me think ''was EA on crack when they thought of this?''
Pierce is done with, let him rest, and this game should, and never can, and never will be made in to a movie.
Possibly, like the bike chase action scene or falling off the cliff shooting guys.
But I don't think ripping pieces off the story wouldn't do the movie good. We don't want Mr. Gritty Craig starring in a film inspired by an over-the-top DAD like action game (DAD => bad => leads to Casino Royale)
EON's opening scene could easily be used as the opening for a Bond movie, same for the gadgets. The rappel gun and infra-red vision would be neat, same for the coin grenades- I can just see Bond handing someone cash and then blowing him up. Not too sure about the Q-spiders; they'd probably have to be CG, and for some reason the CGI in Bond flicks is always quite mediocre.
They could probably build a Q-spider these days. And the idea of Bond giving a tip to, say, an assassin posing as a bellhop and blowing him up is priceless.
To whoever took a shot at the game, it has a style and hard toughness that Die Another Day (I wish it died the day the CGI specs came in T_T) completely lacked. Sure, it was ridiculous, but it was tough, gritty ridiculous. Slick ridiculous. I call it reslickulous.
I'm rambling now.
Anyway, the story is simply too thin to make a movie from, but that can easily be ammended. All you need is some character conflict. Diavolo could, for example, get funding from Moscow, promising to help them rebuild Russia into a democratic superpower. Then he could betray them. There's already enough story in that alone to make a movie, without the obligatory half of the movie where Bond uncovers the evil plan.
And besides, who didn't want to slug it out with Diavolo? This would be the next best thing.
This was a fun game but it would be a terrible film. This was far too silly and "sci-fi" orientated, much like 'Die Another Day', though maybe not quite as bad. I may just be an old fashioned Bond-fan (of the novels more than anything) but Bond shouldn't be ripping off cheesy "spy-fi" shows that were originally inspired by Bond with added "science fiction" (not that I am against "spy-fi" outside of Bond). Bond succeeds best when it is more down to earth and realistic (if not very realistic) such as with OHMSS, FRWL, FYEO and the Timothy Dalton films and fails when it is farsical and too science fiction orientated such as with 'Moonraker', DAF and especially DAD.
