What was Kaguya's deal?

Okay, why, exactly, did she want to stop time and plunge the world into everlasting night? What would that do? And why did she turn Inuyasha into a full demon? Wouldn't that be stupid and dangerous, since he's pretty much uncontrollable when he's in full demon form?

I think its just because she's a b*tch. ^-^

Lol. I was wondering the same thing. I don't know what her problem was.

Me: The lead singer of Queen is gay? Well, that explains the band name...-My quote

Hehe, seriously! It's like she had no real personality or ambitions or motivation AT ALL, beyond that of "Movie Villainess!" The writers should be slapped.

I know, its like she just comes down and causes hell for everyone for no particular reason:

Kaguya: Mwhahahaaa! I am going to attack you because...because...*blinks* uh....wait! Wait! *Turns around, then faces them again with a sword* My name is Inigo Montoya! You killed my father, prepare to die!

Inuyasha: What the hell...?

(LMAO) Y'know, I probably would've liked her a lot better if she'd actually DONE that! Hopefully the third movie will kick ass to make up for these two lame ones...

This movie was great, but I liked it a little less because of the addition of Kaguya.

I haven't seen the first yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

And I'm glad you liked my quote:) Someone my best friend knows came up with that and I just go around saying it. Lol.

It's on right now. According to the old monk, someone stole her robe so she went bat**** insane.

Kagura explained it. Basically, I think, this isn't the real Kaguya, this is a demon that devours other demons to stay alive and grow in power, similar to Naraku. This demon mostly devoured Kaguya for her immortality (which I don't get since all demons are immortal) and powers in general. Note that this is all my theory, but I think somehow this unnamed demon became one with the real Kaguya and thus became one in looks, powers, knowledge, and curse.

Well, not all of them. In the Inuyasha TV series, it was shown that some demons died of age. Perhaps not all, or none, of them are immortal, and they just live a lot longer than humans.

But I agree with you that Kagura's explanation covered it.

Just curious but has the series ended yet, in America? Where does this movie stand in relation to the end?

reply

I know the seres isn't close to the ending, the movie did look like it could end the seris due to two things. 1: Because when Neraku seemed to "die" by the wind scar fusing with the sacard arrow and 2: When Kagome told Inuyasha she loved him when he was a half-demon so that would mean the seris is coming to a close.

From what I hear/read, the series has ended in Japan, at episode number 167, I think. Supposedly, Inuyasha is stuck in a situation where he has to use the Shikon Jewel without really knowing what the results will be. However, the end of THIS series doesn't mean that's the end of the story; as shown with the perenially popular "Sailor Moon," they'll probably just make another series, a set of OVAs, or another movie to tie up the loose ends. Plus, the manga is still ongoing, since Rumiko Takahashi has never been one to put a cash cow out of its misery.

The movies, btw, have absolutely nothing to do with the timeline/situations in the series or manga, from what I've read in anime magazines. They're sort of like an alternate reality or 'what-if?' story. Personally, I think that sucks.

My friend who was fortunate to see the last episodes said that the ending is truly horrible. They never collect Kouga's two shards, and he's not even in the last episodes. Also, Naraku is still alive in the end. Truly horrible...it's worse than Fruits Basket's anime ending, which truly makes you think you're missing an episode, if it weren't for the fact that some shows play their beginning themes during the end of the last episode (I.E. Invader Zim, Fruits Basket, um...Other shows....)
