Sango's Back

In the scene where Kagome and Sango are bathing, we see Sango standing up and for a second there I was sure I saw Naraku's spider mark on her back. What's this all about?

reply

I don't know; I was wondering the same thing...

Twitchy little ferret, aren't you Malfoy?

reply

It's not spider mark. It's just a scar. It was given to her by her bother Kohaku. When he was first taken over by Naraku.

reply

I kind of figured as much since Kagome mentioned him after she looked at it... but I wasn't too sure.

They showed the scar because it was the scar Kohaku gave Sango. This remined Kagome of Kohaku and that they should go look for him now that Naraku was "dead".

What looks like a spider mark is just shadow. The scar on her back is to small to be the spider scar that Naraku and his detachments bear because theirs stretches over nearly their entire back. Sango's scar was given to her by Kohaku in episode 24 when he was possessed by a spider demon. Spiders seem to have a lot of symbolism in the series.

reply

yeah, it wasn't the spider scar, it was from kohaku sticking that hook thing in her back when naraku possessed him

reply

yea, imagine how BAD that would hurt LOL

That's interesting, when I saw that part I did think it was Naraku's doing. I thought 2 things:
1 - Naraku's not really dead and
2 - either he's piggy-backing on Sango's back to show up later, or he captured Sango and took her place disguised as her. (turned out to the be first one it seems to me)

I don't see why Sango would suddenly have a scar that looks exactly like the only thing we can be sure identifies Naraku (this was made very clear when we first see it in the series. It's there in every form, even when he tries to cut it off). And since the same scar appeared on Kohaku right before Naraku came out of it, I took it he just jumped from Sango to her brother. Am I the only one who saw it that way?

And in a related matter, as Dave Barry might ask, would "Sango's Back" be a good name for a rock band?
