Evil Dead

There were heaps of references to the Evil Dead movies in this film. In one of the earlier scenes, the group has to obtain an autograph of Brucee Campbell, who played the hero Ash in the Evil Dead Trilogy. The chainsaw and dismembering a body part are also themes that both movies use.

Seemed like the whole movie borrowed from Evil Dead 1 and 2. Painfully obvious at times too.

reply

Well of course it was "painfully obvious", they openly acknowledged the influence! Didn't you notice the signed photo of Bruce Campbell, and the "real Evil Dead s***" line?

Although they did add the welcome innovation of hot naked chicks...

And Evil Dead borrowed from Equinox and Night Of Living Dead, and Night Of The Living Dead borrowed from I Am Legend/Last Man On Earth and The Flesh Eaters...

Yes, but it also reminded me of Night of the Creeps and Hell House though I enjoyed both of those more than this one.
