Did White Castle pay money to appear in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle?

If so, how much?

reply

They actually shot it before White Castle even knew. Once they found out, it was like a commercial for them.

That is weird lol

The concept was just to put a movie together and make it seem funny. I mean really the entire movie is like that. You have two guys: an Asian and Indian, then you have their White Jewish friends, and all the other stereotypical stuff in the movie. The creators actually had friends like Harold & Kumar and White Castle was just a funny restaurant to them. So when they actually put it in the movie, it was just for laughs. White Castle found out and they could have sued, but they found it funny. There was no endorsement or anything.

Good for them! American entrepreneurial spirit at its best!

Considering how lame and stupid this movie is, the producers should have paid White Castle.

You keep saying that in this board. I'm thinking you've got a secret crush on either Harold or Kumar.

reply

There's no reason to get nasty just because I think your favorite stoner movie is lame and stupid.

😎

reply

Sure, and there is nothing lame and stupid about camping out on a board for a movie you clearly don't like.

Two responses to a post is camping out? Seriously?? BTW, I just reported you for flaming a fellow film fan.
Have fun with that.

Thats fine, and they wont do anything because what i said wasn't flaming. I made a rhetorical statement that you assumed applied to you. Its odd you took it that way. Also, not the only post that you keep talking about how "lame and stupid" this is, nice try.

reply

Lol, just noticed you have comments on the 6 most recent posts, not just the two I saw. Seems to be a lot of attention from someone who obviously doesn't care for a movie. I guess you have more free time than I do.

I somewhat wonder about the placement of products in films as well because I have seen films where they have a soda machine with either a Coke logo on it or Pepsi their rival. I have thought about using placements in a script that I am still working on. I know that one of my main actor loves Jack Daniels and I believe it is Canada Dry, or some tonic just to help them out and I might even contact the companies and say, "Hey if I do this in my film would you be interested in investing into it to help get the film made?" Adam Sandler used in Happy Gilmore Subway Sandwiches and he did a few commercials during the film as well. This is what I have noticed in other films some of the advertisement placements. I am a big Coke fan over Pepsi and I might also use Coke in my script. It is a wait and see process though.
