Eve (Lucie Laurier)

What do you think of the role of Lucie Laurier (the postmistress)?
I was disappointed that her character did not have any scope at all. Why would such a pretty girl live in a nowhere town alone?
At least, they could have had a sex scene between the doctor and her at the end.
And she could have called out the doctor's name in the final scene when all the wives call out their husbands' names.
