terrible godzilla movie

this movie was horrible....the only good thing about it was the soundtrack by Michiru Oshima.

The Godzilla costume looked terrible...and fake at times (looked much better is some of the other films)

Godzilla just stands there and never does anything cool...he just stand there and gets beaten

Godzilla fire breath is not interesting...and he did it way too many times

They tried to make godzilla's roar differnt...turned out kinda wierd

This movie was almost identical to the previous godzilla movie...in plot

Mothra sucks...and i thought it was stupid how the momma mothra got blasted by godzillas ray and they tried to make it all sad and stuff. Seriously...that is retarded.

Somebody please shoot the faries...seesh

Not any very interesting characters

It was also wierd how they tried to tie in other older movies to these two installments...yea...i didnt think it worked

Why does Godzilla always loose...too stupid caterpillars....seriously...just cuz godzilla is the bad guy dont mean that he always has to loose...plus it makes him look weak....cmon...this is a GODZILLA MOVIE....i mean....godzilla just stood there as the gay mothras shoot their striny stuff at him and godzilla didnt do anything...comon Godzilla....where are you?

This movie was embarassing....i am a big godzilla fan but i dunno about this installment...

(last comment....KEEP MOTHRA OUT OF GODZILLA MOVIES)

I definitely agree with you on this one MastaChief. The plot was the same as the previous film, if not more bland and uninteresting, and I believe Toho has reused Mothra way too much in Godzilla movies. They should of introduced a new monster. You probably know that Mothra is in the following Godzilla film (sheesh).

i say that Godzilla should just bring a big can of "OFF" with him the next time that bug shows up.

Hehe, yeah. Either that or light a big candle.

I agree with FMD. This film is my second favorite next to GMK. But it's all opinion. But if nothing else, the soundtrack was great and the SPFX were awesome.

Peace Out.

I have to disagree with you, I feel that Tokyo SOS is a fantastic entry into the Godzilla franchise, especially in light of the recent series of movies.

I will concede that this film definately takes the plot and puts it on the back burner, but in this film, the the plot is not quite as relevant, if that is possible. This film is the first a direct sequel, and as such, it takes for the granted that you know the events leading into it, and takes into account the fact that people want to see the rematch between Godzilla and MechaGodzilla. Knowing this, TOHO provided us with a fantastic exercise in excess..finally combining entertaining action, inovative direction, and well integrated effects. I have yet to see GFW..but until i do, I feel TOKYO SOS holds the bench mark for the Millenium Series at this point in time.

How can stupid little moths win? Yeah I said Godzilla vs. Mothra: Battle for the Earth and was good on another board. But at least mothra didn't call her babies over to Japan! Final Line: Mothra Good Godzilla Enemy. Just don't let her win!

Mothra is one of the best elements in Godzilla history!

I recall how Godzilla 1954 didn't work out very well for Toho, that they tried in 1955 to rename their first major creation. That was the last Godzilla film until 1962!

In 1956 Toho introduced Rodan, and in 1961 they revealed Mothra.

King Kong vs. Godzilla was the second attempt to bring more monster battles to the screen, but it wasn't until Mothra vs. Godzilla 1964 that this started to stick with the film goers.

Anyway Mothra represents the yin to Godzilla's yang...

I have always wanted more Mothra films, and I always root for Mothra whenever it appears.

The bit about Gojira not being successful in Japan in 1954 is just not true. It was a huge success and they rushed to create a (less successful) sequel as soon as they could. And Toho did not rename their monster the following year for "Godzilla Raids Again" -- perhaps you're thinking of the American name for that sequel -- the inexplicable "Gigantis the Fire Monster."

I used to be disappointed at the idea of Godzilla receiving a "tremendous combat loss" too. Until I realized that Kiryu is a Godzilla too. In fact, he's the first Godzilla! So, Kiryu merging victorious sounds more sensible to me, since he is the original "indestructable force nature."

And a little message to the ones who think the cloverfield monster is godzilla

Mothra and Mechagodzilla are both way over used. Mothra is a pretty poor opponent for G.
